Not just representing a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the traditions and history of our local region, this racing carnival provides the opportunity for local business people to directly network with their current and prospective client base.

Also it has the potential to provide an enjoyable and rewarding opportunity to staff and guests, whilst promoting their business at a local, state, national and international level.

The ‘Townsville Amateurs’ has stood firm throughout the cycles of history in this region, providing an opportunity to celebrate and bring friends both new and old together to enjoy an extended weekend of fun, festivities and top class horse racing within a reputable and widely recognised format.

Townsville Amateurs Cup

  • BYO Picnic: We welcome you to bring a picnic hamper along to enjoy our festivities.
  • No Alcohol is permitted to be brought into Cluden Park Race Course.
  • Smoking is permitted in designated areas only.
  • The Saturday is strictly for over 18 years of age only.
    Proof of age will be required to enter the Race Course    .

    Meet and Greet including the traditional Calcutta draw will be held at Mercure Townsville on Friday 24th August 2012

  • Saturday - Townsville Amateurs Cup and Fashions On The Field

    Fashions on the Field, meal and beverage packages in the marquee precinct, live entertainment all day.....

  • Sunday - Garden Party

    What better way to wind up the weekend then a relaxing lunch at the Garden Party. Held at the Townsville Turf Club, the Garden Party is a family friendly, entertaining day including – live music, meals and bars, childrens activities and much more.
